Yes, I tried it and found out a couple of interesting things. For one I have a new great niece, "Welch, Clayborne IV and April (Yearsin) of Madison have named their daughter, born May 9 at Summit Medical Center, Makenzie Amber Marie Welch" and I also learned that "Mordecai Yearsin and Jane America Morris were married 2-Nov, 1854 in Marion County, Iowa according to Marriage Records on roots web. This is no relation as my fathers surname was "Jajczyk" before the U.S. Army changed it between the 1st and 2nd World Wars...
cool! my dad(mom included),my sis, and I all had our names changed when my dad became a U.S. citizen when I was 5 years old. I had already learned how to spell Georgievski for kindergarten too! The government did not even spell his original last name the same as his siblings who came to America either. So that was weird, we were family but different last name spelling. Oh! Since my brother was born after the name change, he is the olnly official Georges in the bunch.
It may not all be true!?!?!
It is true though that I am the only girl in a house of boys. That I am very proud of my 2 sons and I would do just about anything for them!
