Scripture verse for the day

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Just thinking outloud!
What if we are sinning and we personally don't think we are because of how we interpret scripture? How can things be acceptable for some but not for another? (I know we can split hairs on some issues but let's think about the ones that are black and white for the time being) What about when pride and ego get in the way and we "know" we are not wrong? How about when years later we come to understand that we were wrong or misinformed? (I know there is a scripture about God allowing you to learn things over time so that you are not overwhelmed-My unabridged version)
Okay done thinking out loud for the moment! Wishing everyone a great weekend, happy fourth of July if I don't blog in the next couple days. Woo hoo we are off to Cedar Point!

I think the Holy Spirit convicts us as we are ready. If we were to be convicted of everything all at once I don't think we could handle it. Have a safe and blessed 4th weekend..

exactly! that is why I mentioned the scripture that allows us to learn slowly, hence the baby growing up into a mature christian. But isn't it ironic that we think sometimes we can handle it all at once and then we learn we can't. God really is awesome!

Agreed on all of these thoughts. We all are at different stages in our Christian development. We must allow God's grace to overshadow our pride and interpretations. B4T
