suggestions?

We are getting ready to do Nicholas' senior pics and have some options. I want to pay $500 or less. So has anyone heard of a place called The Studio? Anyone have their pics done with them or know of people who have? Let me know please. Thanks!

adjusting and adapting

Isn't it interesting how we are designed to adjust. Adjust and adapt are the two things I think I do the most in life. Vincent is on a new work schedule. Perhaps some of you would not think that it is an adjustment, but it is. He gets home now at 5:00 a.m. We have to all be very quiet so he can sleep (since it is summer time we just sleep in too-*blush*) Our lunch schedule now has changed and since he is here longer in the afternoon, so has our day! All I can say is thanks that he has a job! He just left for work and I am all alone. Nicholas is at football and Kota is at a friend's house. It is an eery feeling that I know will be more permananent as time moves forward. Then there will be more adjusting and adapting.

Play hard, pray harder

Ever here that saying? What does it mean? There is something to it you know. If you have been "playing" under God's rules: the harder you play, the harder you may get hit. The enemy is very crafty and cunning, who likes to play dirty. He knows of all the opportunities that can do damage and will use every second of these times to keep you on the bench and off the field "playing". All the temptations that come in different forms, from being tired on Sunday morning and choosing not to go, to not having free time for yourself where you can spend time with scripture, prayer, and God, are ways of getting benched. Imagined if you kept getting benched. What would your self esteem be like? How would you feel about "playing" the game? Perhaps even the love that you once had would be gone. Thankfully we don't have to have physical characteristics for this battle plan. We have two things that come into play. We have prayer and the Word! These are our lifelines! Let's realign our priorities and take ourselves off the benches. We can resist temptations. We can become armored with scripture as our ammunition. It is our weapon against evil. We can overcome and perservere when we have a relationship with Him. There is a battle with the enemy which is hard enough, let's not battle ourselves too. Give it all up, James 4:10 "humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up". Let's keep training ourselves. Keep equipping ourselves. Just like an athlete, they do it even though there are days they may not want to. Keep pressing on for the prize. Let us do just that.

A guy was driving around the parking lot looking for a good space. Around and around he looked. Finally, he said aloud, "God, if you help me find a parking space; I will quit drinking, lying, and swearing." Around the lot he goes and behold a parking spot has opened up.
The man says to God, "Never mind God! I found one myself!"

thought of the week!

Here is the wedding we went to. These men are carry a baby roasted pig and some bread that is an old custom for newly married couples. Then they break the bread and eat the pig. just a thought that brings forth tons of questions that don't need answers

When ever I walk into a darkened room, I will walk over and flip on the switch. 99% of the time (excluding power outages) the light will turn on. I don't even give it a second thought. If I need something I can go into my cupboards, dressers, closets, and it will be there. If I need something I can run to the store and I will find it. There are no hesitations that I will have whatever I need. If I need to talk to someone, get a hug, reassurance, or whatever, there is my hubby, kids, family, and friends. I have all my needs met. Food, shelter, and love! But why do we all take them for granted? I rarely give any of these things a second thought. Why do we hurt and push away the ones we love the most? Am I, are we the same way when it comes to God?
He is always there. He will always be there. He loves me and will always love me. So why do I take advantage of Him? Why do we take advantage of Him? I know he will forgive me if I ask (sincerely). I know all this but am I really living for him? Are we really living for him?

Every time...

I take a shower I get to read this on my shower gel bottle:
amazing grace
philosophy: how you climb up the mountain is just as important as how you get down the mountain. and so it is with life, which for many of us becomes one big gigantic test followed by one big gigantic lesson. in the end, it all comes down to one word. grace. it's how you accept winning and losing, good luck and bad luck, the darkness and the light.
(8 fl oz)
I think it is kind of cool to start each day with a thingy on your shower gel bottle. I know it is better to start out with a prayer and some scripture, but wouldn't it be cool if all the things we had such as our cereal boxes, milk jugs, toilet paper, etc. had little sayings and/or scriptures through out the day?

off again!

Cedar Point was great, had a few showers. Then we had some bbq's. Now we are off to the zoo. I was just telling Vincent that when we are on vacation we are up earlier and go to bed later. On vacation I am actually more tired. Oh well! Off to see the lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my!
