price of gas?

Seriously though, has the price of gas changed any part of your routine or how you manage your pocket book. I definately don't like the price, it is costing me a fortune for the Expedition and we now have three vehicles.....but we are still cheaper than most countries. Got to always try to find the positive side. Besides when the gas comes down in a little bit to let's say........$2.89 then we will be all saying yeah that is more like it. That price is better than what we are paying now.

This is my varsity football player (aka "hairball" for the moment.) If you can check him and the other Indians out this Friday against Adrian. It will be an awesome game since about 7,000 are expected in attendance. It is "the" game since the Maples are our rivals. Go Indians!

I wish you all enough!

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good-bye.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

the madness continues........

We have .net, .com, .org, and what ever else. Now we are going to have .xxx! What is this you might ask. It is a pornographic domain for the internet. This is a move to help make the internet a more family friendly environment. I do use parental filters and my computer is in a room that has a lot of parental traffic so that I can control what the computer is being used for. We can and should do something about this. Go to this website and state that you don't want this to occur on our internet. We all need to take a stand and do what is right!

gracias!!!

Thank you to all that have sent condolences to the Gonzales family. Please continue to pray for all of them. Many thanks to those who came and stopped in at the funeral home, it was great to see you all even though it was an event such as this. We all have peace in knowing that she has been reunited with her husband and together they are with Jesus! Thanks again and let us all continue to let our lights shine so that others may know this peace and they may be able to go to heaven too.

a mom's life part III

http://gprime.net/video.php/dontspendyourlife

Will or Bill?

Why is it if your name is William you then become Bill? Embarassing but true I thought if your name was Bill then your full name was Billiam. I learned when I was a senior in high school that was not the case. I had a friend named Bill and when they called him up for his diploma at graduation they said William *******. My mouth was like what the ....? I thought his name was Bill. That is what I told the gal next to me. Thankfully she was a friend and explained and we had a silly laugh. I just thought it was common sense.
William = Will
Billiam = Bill
that's it and that makes sense!

Music in the park

It is so cool to live where I do. Right downtown, I can walk to whatever, the post office, bank, bakery, church, the football games, baseball games, parades, the park, any restaurant on the boulevard, and the best part is on thursdays (third one of each summer month) I get live music in my backyard. That is because Adams Park is right behind my house. You know the one with the fountain at city hall! Now that softball is done I can sit with a lemonade or ice tea and listen to the sounds of music. It is so great and I love it! Tonite is good ol' rock 'n roll. :)

She is now "Dancing with the Angels"

In Memory of Vincent's aunt Ida Gonzales-
We are all saddened to hear of her passing. August 17,2005-Amen

Dancing With The Angels-Monk and Neagle

Memories surround me
But sadness has found me
I’d do anything for more time
Never before has someone meant more
And I can’t get you out of my mind
There is so much that I don’t understand
But I know

Chorus:
You’re dancing with the angels
Walking in new life
You’re dancing with the angels
Heaven fills your eyes

Now that you’re dancing with the angels

You had love for your family
Love for all people
Love for the Father, and Son
Your heart will be heard
In you unspoken words
Through generations to come
There is so much that I don’t understand
But I know

Chorus

Bridge:
We’re only here for such a short time
So I’m gonna stand up
Shout out
And sing Hallelujah
One day I’ll see you again

got me thinking?

Vincent is doing a lesson on persecution and it got me thinking. Is being persescuted a bad thing if we live here in the states? I really don't think so. So what if someone calls me a Jesus freak, or a bible thumper. I have even been called brain washed before. Would I rather have a "good" life of the American dream where I spend all my time at a job and not with my family. Would I rather spend on all my pleasures on the big adult toys (not saying that those things are bad-Vincent loves four wheelers and his SUV)and miss out on the first step, the first word, their first school crush, their first everything! The results of having the good life of an American dream is STRESS, WORRY, A VOID, EMPTINESS. But what about an abundant life as the bible talks about? What does it cost me? My time, my heart, my love, my obedience, my money, my wordly reputation, my life (perhaps if I lived else where, physically too). I have to spend my time and money anyways so don't you think I would rather spend it for an abundant life. It will give an excellent exchange. It does give an excellent exchange. I will and do get peace, joy, and an eternal life in a mansion where my kids can play football in the living room. That is the perfect life and I am blessed!

thee inspirational song for me today-an oldie but a goodie!

HOLD ME JESUS- RICH MULLINS

Well, sometimes my life just don't make sense at all
When the mountains look so big
And my faith just seems so small

So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

And I wake up in the night and feel the dark
It's so hot inside my soul
I swear there must be blisters on my heart

So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

Surrender don't come natural to me
I'd rather fight You for something I don't really want
Than to take what You give that I need
And I've beat my head against so many walls
Now I'm falling down, I'm falling on my knees

And this Salvation Army band is playing this hymn
And Your grace rings out so deep
It makes my resistance seem so thin

I'm singing hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf
You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

You have been King of my glory
Won't You be my Prince of Peace

why did I have to mention free time in an earlier blog???

I guess it was cause that was going to be my only free time for a couple of days. Busy is the word for the past couple of days. Last Friday we spent our afternoon in the ER with a football injury (what else). Saturday was driver's ed for my injured guy in Ann Arbor then some grocery shopping. Sunday was back for more driver's ed. Then cleaned house, church, and dinner with friends (that was free time). Today was the circus with Kota and a friend. Which was cool!

can't wait for this movie!!

Lord of the Beans coming this fall-- I am excited it sounds like a good one!!
Next VeggieTales episode is an epic tale.....

There's one bean to rule them all in the next all-new VeggieTales adventure, coming October 29 to Christian stores on DVD and video (November 1 everywhere)! Lord of the Beans tells a VeggieTales story like no other.

The story follows the fantastic journey of a wide-eyed Flobbit named Toto Baggypants (Junior Asparagus), who inherits a bean with amazing powers from his Uncle Billboy (Archibald Asparagus). Young Toto learns that he has been given an extraordinary gift -- but what is it for?

From the Mountains of Much Snowia to the Razzberry Forest, through the Blue Gate and to the Land of Woe, Lord of the Beans teaches kids a memorable lesson about using the gifts God has given them.

The new show also features Wynonna singing an original song, "It's About Love." And in a bout of complete silliness, Larry the Cucumber -- dressed up like Elvis -- sings a special edition of "Silly Songs with Elves!"

free time

Now that the kids are older it is easier to have a little bit of free time. Lots of it is done in the car since I taxi them and their friends a lot. Today though I am meeting a childhood friend for lunch. When I think about it I am amazed. We have been friends for 29 years. Yikes and WOW! I was in her wedding and she was in mine. Pretty cool. Well off to lunch!!! Food and good company, what more can a gal ask for.

what is this new technology?

It is the jerk-o-meter. That's right boys and girls new technology, new software to help us be more socially aware. It will analyze speech patterns and voice tones on a scale. If you are not paying attention when talking on the phone, a message pops up that says "don't be a jerk" or "be a little nicer". Now if you score higher on the scale your message might say "wow, you are a smooth talker". Telemarketers are interested in the jerk-o-meter and others say that maybe it will help them in their relationships. It could alieviate arguments by making people more attentive since they are being monitored.

IF I KNEW

If I knew it would be the last time
That I'd see you fall asleep,
I would tuck you in more tightly
and pray the Lord, your soul to keep.

If I knew it would be the last time
that I see you walk out the door,
I would give you a hug and kiss
and call you back for one more.

If I knew it would be the last time
I'd hear your voice lifted up in praise,
I would video tape each action and word,
so I could play them back day after day.

If I knew it would be the last time,
I could spare an extra minute
to stop and say "I love you,"
instead of assuming you would KNOW I do.

If I knew it would be the last time
I would be there to share your day,
Well I'm sure you'll have so many more,
so I can let just this one slip away.

For surely there's always tomorrow
to make up for an oversight,
and we always get a second chance
to make everything just right.

There will always be another day
to say "I love you,"
And certainly there's another chance
to say our "Anything I can do?"

But just in case I might be wrong,
and today is all I get,
I'd like to say how much I love you
and I hope we never forget.

Tomorrow is not promised to anyone,
young or old alike,
And today may be the last chance
you get to hold your loved one tight.

So if you're waiting for tomorrow,
why not do it today?
For if tomorrow never comes,
you'll surely regret the day,

That you didn't take that extra time
for a smile, a hug, or a kiss
and you were too busy to grant someone,
what turned out to be their one last wish.

So hold your loved ones close today,
and whisper in their ear,
Tell them how much you love them
and that you'll always hold them dear

Take time to say "I'm sorry,"
"Please forgive me," "Thank you," or "It's okay."
And if tomorrow never comes,
you'll have no regrets about today.

a mom's life part 2

stop it or I am going to take you home right now.
That's it! We are going home.
Give me a kiss.
I need a hug
Make your bed.
Clean your room.
Set the table.
I need you to set the table!!!
Don't tell me it is not your turn.
please move your chair in to the table.
Sit up.
just try a little. You don't have to eat it all.
Stop playing and eat.
Would you watch what you are doing?
Move your glass. It is too close to the edge.
Watch it!
More, what?
More, please. That's better.
Just eat one more bite.
You don't always get what you want. That's life.
Don't argue with me. I am not discussing this anymore.
Go to your room!
No, ten minutes are up! (for the game systems I say this alot)
One more minute! (to be in the car for church)
how many times have I told you, don't do that?
Where did the cookies go?
Is your homework done?
Stop yelling. If you want to ask me something, come here.
STOP YELLING. IF YOU WANT TO ASK ME SOMETHING, COME AND ASK ME.
I will think about it.
Not now.
Ask your father.
We'll see.
Don't sit so close to the television, it's bad for your eyes.
Calm down.
Calm down and start over.
Is that the truth?
Fasten your seat belt.
Did everyone fasten your their seat belts?
I'm sorry, that's the rule. I'm sorry that's the rule. I'm sorry that's the rule.

*sigh*

It is over, it is done, and it was bittersweet. Softball is done for this year. I love softball and watching everyone. I love yacking with the gallery of people in the "stands". I will miss it all. Not only that, but I do not get to see many people now, that I used to see on Sunday mornings. Because of softball I was able to see them 3 times this past summer. I know we will schedule time for each other in our busy lives but I still miss everyone. Everyone did an awesome job and it was definately great fellowship! Congrats to St. E's for taking first. After the game everyone went to Basil Boy's and continued in that great fellowship. What was funny is that we then moved it to Family Frosty after that. Perfect way to cool down from a long hot day! Til next softball season........

first time with my guy.....

well, we are up and running with our newest family member. Yes, our newest family member is going to be a guy. I am the only gal in the house now as it is so why should that change. We had a little bit of a struggle trying to name him but we did it none the less. It took me less than an hour to get everything hooked up including the cable tv. Not bad for a girl I say. Imagine my surprise when a screen popped up asking me for a name for my computer. I was serious about naming him, but I did not think I was going to be pressured into it by my computer. Anyways, Kota was with me and I showed him that the computer really wanted a name. We tossed a few around and both came to the same conclusion of what he his name should be. (It is definately not a metrosexual name but I think Dell could be LOL)
ARE YOU READY?
LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO THE NEWEST MEMBER OF THE FAMILY....

I GOT IT! I GOT IT!

I am excited....almost as excited as Vincent awaiting an Oscar de la Hoya match.
yes my new computer has been delivered. I am currently downloading all my music off the old comp so that I can retire her. Then I am probably going to end up staying late messing around trying to set up the new computer (I should have gone grocery shopping). It is very streamlined so I am trying to think of a cool name for him. Yes it is going to be a him so I hope that he will not cause me any problems. I was thinking of a cool metrosexual name (LOL) what ever that may be. I should go back and look at the blog of unusual names. See you when I get everything up and running. toodle-loo and wish me luck

I love this song!

Hide- by Joy Williams

To anyone who hides behind a smile
To anyone who holds their pain inside
To anyone who thinks they're not good enough
To anyone who feels unworthy of love
To anyone who ever closed the door
Closed their eyes and locked themselves away

You don't have to hide
You don't have to hide anymore
You don't have to face this on your own
You don't have to hide anymore

So come out, come out, come out wherever you are
To anyone who's tryin' to cover up their scars
To anyone who's ever made a big mistake
We've all been there, so don't be ashamed
Come out, come out and join the rest of us
You've been alone for way too long

And if you feel like no one understands
Come to the One with scars on His hands
'Cause He knows where you are, where you've been
His scars will heal you if you let Him

interview with God

Interview with God
by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

I dreamed I had an interview with God.

"Come in," God said. "So, you would like to interview Me?"
"If you have the time," I said.
God smiled and said "My time is eternity. It is enough to do everything. What questions do you have in mind to ask me?"
I asked, "What surprises you most about mankind?"

God thought for a few moments and then answered "That they get bored of being children, are in a rush to grow up, and then long to be children again.

That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.

That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live neither for the present nor the future.

That they live as if they will never die, and they die as if they had never lived"

God placed my hands in His and we were silent for while. Then I asked, "As a parent, what are some of life's lessons you want your children to learn?"

God replied with a smile "To learn that they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is to let themselves be loved.

To learn that what is most valuable is not what they have in their lives, but whom they have in their lives.

To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others. All will be judged individually on their own merits, not as a group on a comparison basis.

To learn that a rich person is not the one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.

To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and that it takes many years to heal them.

To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness. To learn that there are persons that love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.

To learn that money can buy everything but happiness.

To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it totally differently.

To learn that a true friend is someone who knows everything about them... and likes them anyway.

To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others, but that they have to forgive themselves."

I sat there for awhile enjoying my visit with God.
I thanked Him for His time and for all that He has done for my family and me.

He replied, "Anytime. I'm here 24 hours a day. All you have to do is ask for me, and I'll answer."

I.F.O.C.E.

INTERNATIONAL FEDERATION OF COMPETITIVE EATING

SPONSORED BY ALKA SELTZER

This weekend Vincent and I watched a "sports" event on ESPN that showed so much strength and focus. It was and eating competition and the winner received $10,000 and a very "coveted" trophy. He (the winner) also had eaten 53 1/2 hotdogs with their buns in 12 minutes, in a previous competition. The commentary was just like watching a boxing match since they did use some boxing jargon. We found it first amusing to watch these people battle through many eating levels during a 3 day stint. However, Vincent and I both thought of people who are starving around the world while these people just GORGED on food in 10 minutes because they wanted the title of food champion. What a twisted society we live in!
