Would you??????

I was in a public restroom and the stall next to me was also occuppied. Her cell phone went off and for the next couple of seconds I heard her pushing buttons on her phone. She was text messaging, I am sure of it, while sitting on the pot. My question is : was it that urgent that you had to do it sitting on a public toilet? EEEWWWW! She was still pounding away while I was washing my hands cause the person she was corresponding with sent a message back (heard the beeps) and then I heard her beeping back on her key pads. Now the real question. Would you or perhaps have you, answered your phone while sitting on a public loo? Perhaps you did not answer the phone, would you text message? I vote no. Besides I thought you weren't allowed cell phones used in public bathrooms cause of the camera phones. Maybe I dreamt that though?

busier than ever, am i crazy?

I have not been able to post as frequently as I would like since I have a new schedule. I do however, try to check up on others and my email every couple of days at least. Let me list my excuses. I picked up another cleaning job in addition to the one I already do on Fridays. I added some part time work at the old Ford plant in Saline. Teaching T.S. Soccer 3 times a week and football once a week. Then add the baby ( not talking about the 3 I already have hee hee). What am I crazy?

The puppies!

We saw the puppies this weekend and these are the three choices that we have pretty much narrowed it down to. The family is divided on our choices! It all is going to come down to what dogs are going to be picked for show dogs and the stud owner gets to pick one pup. So we have to wait two weeks, that is when they are pretty much deciding. All of the dogs were social and playful. Lots of dogs too! It was a good time.

updates

Last weekend was the best birthday ever! No, I did not go anywhere like Las Vegas or receive diamonds. I just had a hubby who did many special things for me and it meant the world to me. Thanks again Vincent! muak!

We got our senior proofs back. He took some really good pics. Glad that is almost over with. Now we just got to pick poses and picture sizes.

Tomorrow we are going to visit the puppies! The only one not going is Nicholas cause of football. We will take some pics for him!

This weekend Kota has two soccer games (plays Clinton and Adrian) and Nicholas has his football game Friday night. It is home and we play Chelsea! come one, come all! It is parents night so it might be a little bit more crowded than usual!

Wow it will soon be middle of Sept.

Wasn't it inevitable?

We loved watching this crazy guy doing crazy things that we would never even attempt to do with animals. So it was and it was not shocking that he passed away from one of his animal adventures. Long live his episodes!

Matt Redman -Never let go!

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know You are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear? Whom then shall I fear?

Chorus:
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm
and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

Chorus:

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

Chorus:

No respect!

people have no respect for each other. Why do I think that because of what I observe all the time? Vincent and I were just talking today about how people will say Hi b#$@*! and they say it like it is some type of endearment! there are even t-shirts out there with the word on it, just a letter a is thrown in there after the i. I don't want to hear that, nor do my kids. I remember there was a time when it was just not proper to cuss in front of a lady. Which brings me to the next item. Some man flipped me the bird today while I was on my to the football scrimmage. Hello! What in the world is the world coming to when it is okay to just flip a person off, let alone a female. He was not some young punky kid either. He was an older gentleman in a nice gold buick. What did I do to provoke the man to give me such a sign of endearment? Why I slowed down cause he was tailgating me so bad that I could not see him at all. It was rush hour traffic and there was no way he was going anywhere. A row of cars in front of me and a row of cars behind. There was also a row of cars in the on coming lane, no where to go but in my behind! What kind of stinking thinking does a man have to just do that to someone, let alone a girl. Total disrespect and people that do those kinds of things have issues. Thanks for the venting moment-much better now!

word to the wise

If you ever use Gorilla Glue-1. use it sparingly 2. even if you don't think you put hardly any on, you did and 3. don't leave the object you are gluing on the kitchen counter-for you may just come home from a soccer practice that your child has and find the full length mirror glued to your kitchen counter!!!

Would you?

If you saw a stranger with something stuck to their shoe, back, or perhaps even a booger or food stuck in their tooth would you say something?????????

Why am I asking you say? Because yesterday Dakota put a big Wonderbread primary colored sticker on my back. I asked my hubby to remove it. I heard the ripppppp noise of it peeling off my back and that was the end of that. Little did I know that it was still stuck to my back. So where did I go with this big sticker that was in the shape of a piece of bread with the red, yellow, and blue dots on it with the logo WONDER in big letters. I walked across the street and stood in line at the bank. I went to a parent soccer meeting where I was in the front row and there were 8 parents behind me. I sat for 2 hours at a soccer practice and talked to parents and people passing by at Mitchell Field. I then went into Sal's restaurant to get take out. Then about 10 o clock at night someone came up behind me giggling. Kota says, " I can't believe I forgot it. Dad told me to remember to take it off."
"What?" I say not even looking at him.
Then I hear a rippppppppp sound and he hands me the sticker and walks away laughing his head off!!!
Very funny, very funny indeed!

what is your most embarassing moment?

mine is very embarassing to me. I went to school in the late 80's. It was cool to wear windbreakers that pulled over your head. mine was a navy blue that could fold up into the front pocket. Anyways, I was an underclassmen in the senior hall trying to take off my windbreaker. Thinking I could do it all in one swift move my shirt came off with my windbreaker. the more I struggled the more tangled the two clothing articles became. The topper to the story is when Mr. K the math teacher came running up and stood there with arms out stretched saying loudly, don't look! don't look!
Okay well if they did not notice before then they noticed now! I wanted a hole to open up and swallow me. Many people knew what happened next hour and but luckily for me I was old news by lunch time!

adjusting and adapting

Isn't it interesting how we are designed to adjust. Adjust and adapt are the two things I think I do the most in life. Vincent is on a new work schedule. Perhaps some of you would not think that it is an adjustment, but it is. He gets home now at 5:00 a.m. We have to all be very quiet so he can sleep (since it is summer time we just sleep in too-*blush*) Our lunch schedule now has changed and since he is here longer in the afternoon, so has our day! All I can say is thanks that he has a job! He just left for work and I am all alone. Nicholas is at football and Kota is at a friend's house. It is an eery feeling that I know will be more permananent as time moves forward. Then there will be more adjusting and adapting.

Play hard, pray harder

Ever here that saying? What does it mean? There is something to it you know. If you have been "playing" under God's rules: the harder you play, the harder you may get hit. The enemy is very crafty and cunning, who likes to play dirty. He knows of all the opportunities that can do damage and will use every second of these times to keep you on the bench and off the field "playing". All the temptations that come in different forms, from being tired on Sunday morning and choosing not to go, to not having free time for yourself where you can spend time with scripture, prayer, and God, are ways of getting benched. Imagined if you kept getting benched. What would your self esteem be like? How would you feel about "playing" the game? Perhaps even the love that you once had would be gone. Thankfully we don't have to have physical characteristics for this battle plan. We have two things that come into play. We have prayer and the Word! These are our lifelines! Let's realign our priorities and take ourselves off the benches. We can resist temptations. We can become armored with scripture as our ammunition. It is our weapon against evil. We can overcome and perservere when we have a relationship with Him. There is a battle with the enemy which is hard enough, let's not battle ourselves too. Give it all up, James 4:10 "humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up". Let's keep training ourselves. Keep equipping ourselves. Just like an athlete, they do it even though there are days they may not want to. Keep pressing on for the prize. Let us do just that.

A guy was driving around the parking lot looking for a good space. Around and around he looked. Finally, he said aloud, "God, if you help me find a parking space; I will quit drinking, lying, and swearing." Around the lot he goes and behold a parking spot has opened up.
The man says to God, "Never mind God! I found one myself!"

just a thought that brings forth tons of questions that don't need answers

When ever I walk into a darkened room, I will walk over and flip on the switch. 99% of the time (excluding power outages) the light will turn on. I don't even give it a second thought. If I need something I can go into my cupboards, dressers, closets, and it will be there. If I need something I can run to the store and I will find it. There are no hesitations that I will have whatever I need. If I need to talk to someone, get a hug, reassurance, or whatever, there is my hubby, kids, family, and friends. I have all my needs met. Food, shelter, and love! But why do we all take them for granted? I rarely give any of these things a second thought. Why do we hurt and push away the ones we love the most? Am I, are we the same way when it comes to God?
He is always there. He will always be there. He loves me and will always love me. So why do I take advantage of Him? Why do we take advantage of Him? I know he will forgive me if I ask (sincerely). I know all this but am I really living for him? Are we really living for him?

Every time...

I take a shower I get to read this on my shower gel bottle:
amazing grace
philosophy: how you climb up the mountain is just as important as how you get down the mountain. and so it is with life, which for many of us becomes one big gigantic test followed by one big gigantic lesson. in the end, it all comes down to one word. grace. it's how you accept winning and losing, good luck and bad luck, the darkness and the light.
(8 fl oz)
I think it is kind of cool to start each day with a thingy on your shower gel bottle. I know it is better to start out with a prayer and some scripture, but wouldn't it be cool if all the things we had such as our cereal boxes, milk jugs, toilet paper, etc. had little sayings and/or scriptures through out the day?

off again!

Cedar Point was great, had a few showers. Then we had some bbq's. Now we are off to the zoo. I was just telling Vincent that when we are on vacation we are up earlier and go to bed later. On vacation I am actually more tired. Oh well! Off to see the lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my!

Scripture verse for the day

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Just thinking outloud!
What if we are sinning and we personally don't think we are because of how we interpret scripture? How can things be acceptable for some but not for another? (I know we can split hairs on some issues but let's think about the ones that are black and white for the time being) What about when pride and ego get in the way and we "know" we are not wrong? How about when years later we come to understand that we were wrong or misinformed? (I know there is a scripture about God allowing you to learn things over time so that you are not overwhelmed-My unabridged version)
Okay done thinking out loud for the moment! Wishing everyone a great weekend, happy fourth of July if I don't blog in the next couple days. Woo hoo we are off to Cedar Point!

Nacho Libre

The four of us went and see Jack Black's newest movie "Nacho Libre". All enjoyed it, but two of us thought Napolean Dynamite was better and 2 thought Nacho Libre was. I will admit that Vincent's laughing made me laugh more than I probably normally would have. But it was a great movie once again with no cursing! Thank you Nacho!

Jermey Riddle- Sweetly Broken

To the cross I look, to the cross I cling
Of its suffering I do drink
Of its work I do sing
For on it my Savior both bruised and crushed
Showed that God is love
And God is just

Chorus:
At the cross You beckon me
You draw me gently to my knees, and I am
Lost for words, so lost in love,
I’m sweetly broken, wholly surrendered
What a priceless gift, undeserved life
Have I been given
Through Christ crucified
You’ve called me out of death
You’ve called me into life
And I was under Your wrath
Now through the cross
I’m reconciled

Chorus:
In awe of the cross
I must confess
How wondrous
Your redeeming love and
How great is Your faithfulness

keeping unity

On a previous post that I did a couple of days ago, I talked about helping out another Christian if they were sinning by talking to them about it. Adding to that thought, I was thinking that if someone came to me or perhaps I went to someone else and suggested that a part of their life that they were living was sinful, I just might not be their friend anymore or them mine (I am human therefore not perfect :). They may distant themselves from me and may have nothing to do with me again. However, the bible talks about making "every effort to keep the unity of one body and one Spirit" (Ephesians 4:3). The whole chapter is awesome about unity in the body of Christ. Are we all making every effort to keep unity in the body of Christ? Even if we step on ones toes or rock the boat with our interpretation of scripture. This is something marriages, families, co-workers do so that they can cohesively get along to achieve whatever it may be. So why can't most Christians? I will strive to do better myself.
I love this cartoon that helps the unity theme along:

Something I myself need to work on.

If we know that a Christian is continually living a life a sin, then why don't we talk to them about it? Is it because we are not a good friend of theirs? We think it is the leaderships responsibility? It is a very uncomfortable subject and we don't like confrontation? Perhaps who am I to judge comes into play. You know we all mess up and we are all sinners. I am talking about claiming that you are a christian and then continually living a sinful life. For example, you are saved and you are living with someone of the opposite sex and you are living a lifestyle as a married couple. Premarital sex is a no-no! So would you talk to this christian or not? I know sometimes people will say, I need to develop a relationship with them first before I say anything. Well what if judgement day comes before that relationship is done being formed? I know the key is that it has to be done in love, in truth, and in spirit. Biblically is the way!

Video Games

We live in a totally different time than when I grew up. Everything now a days is electronic and moral standards have been lowered in our society. We have game systems in the house and the kids do play video games on those and the computer. I know that Left behind has come out with a "christian" video game that when you kill a person your score decreases and when you save a soul your score increases. The game is similar to Star wars battlefront, I believe, the difference is that these are really people that could be in your neighborhood, compared to Darth Vader who does not really exist. (sorry Star Wars fans) I do not allow games with scantily clad girls, jocks who do steroids, no stealing, and the ones where the people shoot other people. I do allow the games such as Star Wars because the characters are not real and the kids know they are not real compared to a gangster stealing a car. Sounds like a contradiction, huh?

Okay now where should we draw the line. Is it okay for Christians to get into the video industry that makes tons of money with a video game of killing people? They say it is okay because it has a message attached to it. A christian message, but the people in it are killing each other. Should christians play this game? Some would say it is better this than Grand theft auto.

What would be the difference of that game and the game I allow Kota to play of medieval knights that relive historic crusades of Christendom? I don't know! Those are realistic people but I think since it is not in a modern world setting Kota perhaps thinks it is unrealistic. Sometimes decisions are hard and what I may think is suitable for my kids, others may not think are suitable and vice versa.

I don't know how many Left Behind video games were sold and I have never been asked by my kids to purchase or rent it? So, I guess I don't have to deal with the issue if it is okay for me to allow it. For now anyways.

I will admit I am bragging a bit (blush)

Last night the boys played their first softball game of the season and they won both games. Congrats to you all! I just have to say though that my guys are the best! Nicholas started at third base and he hit one official home run and one home run on an error. I as his mom will count that as two :) Now Vincent works nights so he does not usually play until July when he is on shut-down. Yesterday afternoon he called me and says, "get my stuff ready and meet me at the field." He had the opportunity to come home after working a couple of hours and he took it so he could play.

Well, his first at bats was a home run with two RBI's. He had a total of three home runs last night. Not bad for someone who had not been able to practice and swing a bat all spring!

Good job boys. I highly recommend that you come on out and cheer our guys on. They play Thursdays at 6 p.m. usually (but not always) at the Ridgeway Nazarene field and it is a double header. Ask me if you got any questions.

**reminder** for those of you who are fasting, we break it together (voluntary) tomorrow at noon and we are meeting at 11 am for prayer and worship at the Haddox resident**
**second reminder*** potluck this Sunday!

summer shows i will Tivo

The Closer
The 44oo
The Dead Zone
and I think I might watch the new show Treasure Hunters ( we will see)

With cable I admit there are more shows to watch with the "regular" shows all having their seasonal finales. But with summer I will have to just record these shows and watch when time permits. At least I have an option:)
